2. The service
The counter is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time.
3. Estimates, not guarantees
Word, character, sentence and paragraph counts follow the rules described on the About page, but conventions differ between publishers, schools and platforms. Reading and speaking times are estimates based on 200 and 130 words per minute. Always verify counts against your own requirements before submitting or publishing work.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use this site to process content you have no right to handle, to break any law, or to attempt to disrupt, scrape at scale or reverse-engineer the service or its advertising.
5. Intellectual property
The design, text and code of this site are protected by copyright. Your text remains entirely yours: we claim no rights over anything you type or paste, and we never receive a copy of it.
6. Advertising
Pages may display third-party advertisements. We are not responsible for the content of advertisers’ websites or for any dealings you have with them.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from reliance on the counts and estimates shown by the tool.
